Hi. i want to fit a quadcut disc to a chonda powered victa chassis.. it has the cast boss with the two lugs..Q..would drilling two holes in the disc weaken it in any way.
I could use the correct Masport boss, but this motor does not have the keyway to suit the woodruff key.

Hi kenny_t,
best advice is change the boss, all 4 stroke motors have a keyway. Just watch that Masport blade carrier they are very prone to cracking around that ring you can see on it. I always weld a big washer on them because of this problem. The fault has been known for a long time

That's a Sanli boss. If you have a sanli blade carrier use it. Drilling it won't weaken it but be wary, as Norm said, they are prone to cracking the centre out. Use a large diameter washer of you have one, it preserves the centre where they crack and distributes the load around a larger area.
