Hi All
I'm trying to pull apart deck spindle and can't seem to get the disc boss off spindle shaft, any hints?
Also is there a rebuild kit for the spindle or are they generic bearings, seals?
I'm after part #A07597 (key). Is this a special size or common key steel?

Thanks
Steve

stevea,

You should be able to get the bearings from CBC as well as the key, this will save you quite a bit of money.

You have two different bosses for the colt, one is like a plate and the other is a solid piece of steel.

I would suggest that for both you spray on some brake fluid and leave for at least 30 minutes before trying to remove them.

The solid one is fairly easy to remove by just using a puller but the metal plate one is harder because you can bend the plate trying to get it off with the standard type puller. I would suggest using a press for that one so as not to cause damage to the plate.

Hope that this is of some help. cheers2

Hi All
Just thought you all might like to know I got the boss off. After plenty of swearing and cursing using a puller with no luck! Run into an old friend who tinkers with mowers and he said try unscrewing it! Bugger me if it was screwed on LOL. Ok next job to fix the deck.
