Rover Colt Major - Foote 35 Gearbox Assembly

Hi All,

There are a lot of threads on servicing the Foote 35 Gearbox, but I would like to ask; is it necessary to use a Liquid Gasket, for example, Permatex 81160 High-Temp Red RTV Silicone Gasket when assembling the two halves back together? I am yet to pull mine apart, so not sure if it has any form of gasket between the halves.
