Hi all, been restoring an old 1959 Gardenmaster Landmaster 80 small rotovator. I managed to rebuild the little jap engine and the machines reduction box. It now runs but i have to use rope to start it. This is not a bad thing of course but she would be completed if i had the little recoil starter that would have with it originally. If anyone has one and would consider parting with it please contact me, i will cover all costs.

I feel that is a sensible approach.

Little seems to be known about these recoils.
I regret not bidding on a 2015 auction brochure ...



MY JAP parts list does not show the recoil starter!
I hope a member has some information.

I know this is an old post but I have been going through a box of old odds and ends and may have what you are after if you have not been able to source one for yourself.

Let me know if you are still chasing the starter and I can take a photo of the one I have.

Yes it is the same although needs a good clean up. There are a couple of small weld jobs done to the mounting brackets but they are quite neat and look to have been done professionally.

I have not heard anything from the other chap so you can have this is you wish. Couple of photos attached.
