Hi Guys. Hope everyone is well.
Does anyone here have, or know of someone who has, or know of a place where I can get my hands on a
*BRIGGS AND STRATTON QUANTUM???
*12000 Series
*196cc or 12ci
*L Head type
*Vertical shaft
*Aluminium cylinder
*BARE BLOCK/ENGINE made in the early 1990's
Of course I'm prepared to pay for it, I'm just having trouble trying to track one down.
I'll list the identification numbers below. Maybe some one may have a block from a different year yet it takes all the internal parts I've got???
If someone has a long engine I consider that too, although I didn't want to buy a complete engine and I don't really need the internal parts

I have one exactly fitting your requirements-made 2 months prior to yours, 197 cc, fully disassembled, and cleaned up. Was about to start rebuilding it when I saw your post.

It’s all in mint condition, just had low compression, so I ordered new rings. When I got the piston out, it looked fine-rings looked perfect, so I think valve sealing is the issue.
