I just bought the thing three days ago. I mixed the fuel/oil properly, added bar/chain oil and started using it. No problem at first. I cut a few limbs off a tree in my front yard, put the saw down & shut it off to haul the limbs to my truck and when I try to start it to use again it starts and idles but when I push the throttle it stalls. I tried it over and over again, it starts but stalls when I press the throttle.

Anyone seen this before? I'm almost ready to return it.

It sounds like the low speed needle on the carburetor needs adjusting. It should be turned counter clockwise to open it slightly. Try 1/8 of a turn and see if that helps. If not go another 1/8 and keep going until the saw will accelerate ok. Before doing the adjusting the saw should be operating temperature which is hard to do if it will only idle. Try starting it and then pull the choke out a bit and pull the throttle trigger , with the help of a bit of choke it should rev up. Once you have it accelerating ok and having richened the low speed needle you will have to adjust the high speed a tiny bit leaner to compensate for this. Again try 1/8 of a turn only at a time.
Hope that helps.

If it only 3 days old. I do not sugest messing with the adjustments. It does sound like the carb. adjustments. The first thing the dealer is going to say, ( you did what to the carb )

The owners manual explains carburetor adjustments and it is sometimes necessary to make adjustments if the saw is used at a higher altitude than it was originally set for. Certainly if you have a dealer that is handy take it back for a re-do of the setup. As the engine breaks in it will need re-adjustment any way.
