Hi all i am having dramas with the clutch assembly moving along the engine drive axle after each mow. I have it set correctly so that the clutch lever engages / disengages correctly however after 30min of mowing the clutch seems to be moving back against the engine on the shaft. I have tightened the 2 square head bolts to secure it to the shaft but dont want to overtighten. Has anyone had these dramas before?

Hi Miloboy

Are the bolts coming loose ? Might need to take the engine off and check the crank end for damage to key way as this will occur when the clutch comes loose on the shaft. Does the clutch run true or have a bit of a wobble when the engine is running ? you will need to check the clutch half for wear also.

Cheers

Thanks wce.

It doesn’t have any wobbles.
I will pull it off and check the shaft, good point thanks.
The clutch assembly only got serviced within the last year.
See how i go

so it ended up being the set screws getting loose after each mow.
I will put some locktight on the thread to help

Hi Miloboy

Glad the crank and clutch half were ok, bit unusual for the bolts to continually come loose though.

Cheers
