G'day Jack and all

I'm just assuming that I'm thinking the same thing about the Victa 700 https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...icta-uk-super-700-c1980s.html#Post112145

This Victa 700 does look like the Greenfield 28 inch slasher , As we know Greenfield made a ride on mower
for SupaSwift and it looks like Greenfield supplied the parts or the complete mower to Victa for the Super 700
Slasher.

Cheers
Max.

G'day Max

That's exactly what I was thinking!

I remained aloof because I needed a second opinion,
and I knew that a member needed very broad knowledge
to answer this one.

Many thanks, and this must be a surprise to the 'Victa Experts'.
This was a surprise to me, and little is known about the Super 700.

Victa have a long heritage of secrecy - it would appear.

Cheers Max!

G'day Jack

Thanks Jack for making your brochures and manuals available for download.

The JLO history is on Wikipedia ,you may have read this previously .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILO-Motorenwerke

I think it's ILO but the logo is written JLO so both would be correct, just a fancy way to write an I making
it look like a J .

The German motor manufacturing facilities were sold to American Tecumseh Products Company in 1977.

Good old Victa with German engineering.

I think the Victa steel bases are made using an Esslingen hydraulic press.

Cheers Jack

Max.

Hi Max
Yeah, I did read that Wiki entry.
I decided on the 'JLO' identifier simply because that's
how Victa used it in the brochure.

This reminds me of the beautiful engines that Ransomes used
post-war on many of their mowers. They used Swiss Motosacoche engines
that were described in brochures as being MAG engines ...
LINK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motosacoche

Interesting stuff with the German press tools and German engineering.

WE are agents for Knipex and Rennsteig in Tassie, and they sure make
beautiful - but expensive - hand tools.

Many thanks Max for your great work.
I'm a huge fan of MAX-WERK GmbH.

Hi-ya Jack

Thanks Jack for the link ,the old bikes are interesting ,there are a few old interesting Patents for them.
I see a few people making home made retro bikes now.

Expensive tools are fine if they are long lasting.

This Victa 700 rebranding has been going on a long time it reminds me of the first
Rover Mowers (Wizard) that were rebranded Champion mowers.

Here's some great history from Jack if others haven't seen this info.
