Hello ODK steam lovers
Steamfest is held annually over the long weekend in March.

Held in the town of Sheffield, located 23 kilometres inland from
Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania. It’s a pretty town in
the shadow of Mount Roland.

Apart from being an important dairy farming area, its modern claim to
fame is … murals … more than you can poke a paint brush at.

I visited Steam fest today and I loved it!
It’s an old-fashioned farm show going way beyond the steam theme.
Old machinery and cars were there, farm machinery, animals, side shows,
pluto pups … There was an upright piano that shot flames into the air when
played. You get the idea …

The event also celebrated 75 years of Massey Ferguson, and
150 years of railways in Tasmania. There were swear-word loads
of Fergies there!

Ferguson Tractors Make Local News
The 75th Anniversary of Fergie tractors did make ABC news ...

Love those shows Jack, just never seem to have time to really stop and smell the roses at those places, always too much to do here.

Hi Norm and Jack, grey makes a refreshing change from the usual bright colours you see on tractors.

MF, Those grey Fergies were such a beautiful machine, I spent a lot of my younger days driving them on my parents farm and when we were also out contracting. Back in the fifties and sixties they were the best machine for working in Gippsland because they were so much lighter than anything else around so they didn't chop up the ground as much as the heavier machines did

I'm envious Norm. That would have been a blast.
Check out this hefty Nuffield powered by an 11 litre Leyland engine.
