The title says it all. Good aluminium base, good axles, tyres not worn out. Looks pretty tight.
Bottom bearing OK and compression ok....
Broken starter rope means it has had a rest for a while.................
I'll just work through it . Never had a WeedEater mower.
Is that a rebranded something......... I thought WeedEater was American.....
Cheers

Good find Speedy

Electrolux bought Husqvarna back in the late 70s, and along the way acquired other names - chiefly Mcculloch, Jonsered, Flymo, Poulan and others.

Weedeater was started by the guy who invented the line trimmer, then merged a few times with other companies, before finally with Poulan. When Husky bought Poulan, they got Weedeater.

That mower can be found in orange or silver flymo, Husqvarna orange, weedeater green, and I have seen one in yellow (Mcculloch?).

They come with anything from Classic 35's to Quantum 50's and the odd tecumseh

I remember reading somewhere they were loosely associated with Rover, but not much is interchangeable.

Usually take Victa 18 blades.

A mate of mine found one of those. He gave it to a neighbour who repairs mowers.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Why would call a lawnmower model a Weed Eater ? not a good sales pitch for something to mow your lawn / grass with ?

It's just trading on existing brand loyalty, I'd say.

The original USA Weed Eater product line was line trimmers only, and it's quite an appropriate brand name for those...

I have had a couple of Weedeaters, the ones I had were a big cut, 20 inch from memory but fitted with a little Briggs, some manufacturers have no idea, or just don't care. The other stupid idea with them is that American idea of having to adjust the wheels individually. Not a mower I would seek out

G'day all,

I'm always throwing these mowers in the bin as the bases are all cracked at the back ,in the mowers I pick up .

The International I was told ,SupaSwift made the bases but might be the earlier International, that SupaSwift made .

I've had a couple that weren't cracked but they were new.

Cheers
Max.

I can't see any cracks, doesn't look like it has done much work.
Set flywheel air gap sanded of flywheel. Got it started with electric drill, mowed front lawn.Changed oil put oil treatment in.....
Put a starter on , and made a fine spring for carb....gotta fidle with that a bit.
Finished mowing the yard.
Nice little mower, easy start... no catcher but who needs one of those......
cheers
speedy
