Can anyone assist bought a 38 in mtd yardman about a year ago. Has 3 pulleys. Replaced then and spindles. Keep burning belts. Bought the correct belt now on middle setting it doesn't engage belt well. If I go to a smaller belt and go to low on deck it smokes it up. It of ideas[img]http://[/img]

To burn a belt something is wrong. could be a belt keeper in the wrong place, or the belt routed the wrong way, would need some pictures to help out any further. I am assuming you have the older model with no idlers to seize up. Could also be the alignment of the deck, if it is too far down at the front it can cause problems, again pictures will help
