Old Morisson (?) rotary hoe - control cables?

Can anyone help with getting hold of a cable for this old rotary tiller? It's missing the cable which tensions the wee wheel against the drive belt and attaches at the handle, looks to be barrel ended at both ends. Nothing available to me locally and it would probably have to be made up to spec?

There are DIY kits on the market for motorcycle control cables, which would be the way to go. Run a search on my past posts here, and you'll find the info.

those red belts that are put together one 3cm piece at a time... might work.
