Hi guys

Had the blade disk off of my 1979 Victa (gold, not badged, so some presumably a storebrand) to put on a new lower main seal.

I have never seen Victa blades like this, I was thinking it must have hit rocks (I have never mowed with it yet despite having it since feb 2019). Was experimenting with rislone resealer, which worked quite well, but I still didn't want to risk a lawn covered in oil

What gets me is both blades are the same angle exactly - its like they were made that way or someone bent them very precisely

Have you guys seen this before?

G'day Tyler,
no idea why they are like that but I'd just replace them.
They look like they'd bitch slap the grass into submission instead of cutting it!!

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Maybe they are afraid of catching Corvid-19 from the grass so they social distancing.

G'day Tyler ,Mf and AVB

Yeah I've had quite a few mowers with blades like these ones ,I would bet my bent bar blade they
would hammer straight LOL ,I just hammer them flat again give them a sharpen and good to go
again but make sure after straightening there are no cracks if cracked obviously you would
bin them and not worth straightening this bar blade below.

I guess old bar blades can be turned into machetes.

Cheers
Max.

But I couldn't resist commenting. LOL. Here they seems to blaming everything on the virus even though it is very dangerous one, still common sense got to prevail.

Stay safe everyone. One of my neighbors just got released after testing positive three weeks ago. He about went stir crazy for three weeks of self confining himself. He has been try ing to work this week but not able to make pass a half day, so exhausted is his main complaint.

Max, I have straighten a few bent bar blades but I use a hydraulic press to do it. I even had to bend a few when the deck can't be fully straighten out. I surprised that a 1/16 to 1/8 bow can make a lot difference how cut meeting in the middle of the decks.

Yes common sense and Coronavirus don't go together like everyone knows the government
are using nasal swabs to implant microchips .into the population when testing for Covid 19 WTF

Yes a straight blade makes a fair amount of difference AVB , also the bar blades are better balanced after a little straightening ,rotary
mowers seem to run smoother.

Cheers
Max.

Yes it's very strange what people believe Norm ,It took more than 300 years for the Church to admit that Galileo was right and to clear his name of heresy.

How much longer will it take for the Catholic church to remove the ridiculous celibacy rule for priests before more lives are damaged?
