Gday fellas,
Making great progress with my Morrison 500.
I’ve managed to get the reel out after great struggle (your repair manuals helped a lot!!)
I can’t get the bearing housing bracket off the left hand side, Number 13 in diagram attached.
Any trick to it that you know of?

Hello Butchy8, Looking at your exploded view Can I ask have you tried using a puller to get the part off? A 2 legged puller should be able to remove the part, the other method if you do not have a puller is to use two tyre levers and lever against the end of the cutting reel, I assume part 13 is also made up of parts 8, 9, 10, and 11 like the other end, if so you may do damage to what I assume part 8 is a cover for the bearing.

You may be best to use a puller to remove the housing from the bearing leaving the bearing on the shaft, you will then be left with the bearing to remove, but seeing as how bearings are easily replaced and also easy to brake off whereas I imagine the housing is something that would be hard to find for this mower.

A small amount of heat applied to the housing as you are using the puller will also help, but not too much as it appears to be alloy.
I hope there are others who may be able to help here on the ODK forum who have had the same problm.

Hi Beech,
Thanks for the feedback mate!
I think I will try get my hands on a puller, the TYRE lever method seems a bit daunting haha.

I’ll let you know how I go, thanks again 😊

Thats OK Butchy glad you got the job done, good to see when you have finished the job.
I took one off the end of an Atco reel today using my lever method, still got all the skin on my knuckles and nothing broken.
