G'day Max, many thanks for that info. I'll just mosey-on outside and do some exercise. Here it will be my favourite "kick-a-few-things" I will do this with great gusto. I will be humming Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World ...
[Okay. did that, burnt some energy. and have calmed down...]
The only good thing about this episode was the humorous posts by members made here.
Many thank to Max for that link. Unfortunately, I never made a complaint.
That it was said/claimed that this mower had HD parts is total BS.
Thanks Gadge for the humourous take on band names. Brilliant.
I gave it a crack, Jack, but I don't think eBay really gave a damn. I got an auto email from them, and that's it.
There are better Qualcast mowers on Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree that struggle to sell for less than half that!
I only hope the winner doesn't come across ODK, and have their folly crystallised. Poor buggers, I do feel sorry for them. Perhaps they'll enjoy their new purchase, who knows.
I don't collect mowers. I just require Multiple Mowing Solutions™.
I have been following a Paypal problem that has now gone on since the first complaints started in 2017 that is 3 years and there is now 52 pages of complaints about a particular seller that for some unknown reason Paypal continue to allow to use their payment platform So if anybody is interested never buy anything from Strong Current Enterprise, at least Ebay and Gumtree seem to be blocking their ads for the last couple of years but obviously around the world people are getting stung on a regular basis
Then there was the 1980s band 'Blue Rondo A La Turk' [from the title of a Dave Brubeck jazz tune], who had this strangely compelling song;
Not surprisingly, this one was produced by Kev Godley and Lol Creme, of Brit band '10cc' - one of the greatest 'pisstake bands' of all time. Yes, I do know what the [raunchy] derivation of that name is; you'll have to find it out for yourselves!
Even the band name 'Steely Dan' [and superb they were] has a pretty raunchy provenance - hint: it's an 'object name' from William S. Burroughs' rather drug-addled novel 'The Naked Lunch'.
Cheers, Gadge

G'day Gadge I feel you would make a brilliant eclectic music historian! I kept shaking my head with disbelief at the 'Blue Rondo' link Folks at home will know the brilliant Brubeck from Take 5 HERE.
As a teen, I had a pisstake album of the Beatles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rutles You have now educated me - a cover or tribute band is not quite a pisstake band.
Gadge, I now realise ... I'm an amateur!
I'm too scared - now - to investigate 10CC and Steely Dan. My parents might have said, "Jack, don't go there!".

I remember some of their songs; one of my then mates back in the late 70s had their album 'The Rutland Weekend Songbook' in his collection. 'Song O' The Insurance Salesmen', 'Communist Cooking', 'Accountancy Shanty' - brilliant stuff!

Nah, nothing really 'off' - mentioned in their Wikipedia entries, actually.
Yes, I'd concur that my musical tastes are best described as 'eclectic'. Bits of everything from Baroque and Early Music, through a little of the Classical genre, to Fats Waller [1940s jazz], and more modern bands up to the present day.
Here's a very 'politically incorrect' YT [ monochrome!] vid of one of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band's classics; Look Out, There's A Monster Coming.

Well, if something is worth doing, it's even more worth overdoing! Or in other terms, to quote an old 'serious petrolhead' mate of mine, 'If some is good, then more is better, and too much has to be just right'

It's not surprising that the major studios wouldn't touch this one. I guess this is Boss Music!
Yup, close as it gets, IMHO. The vid I've linked is actually from the recent stage production of 'The Producers'. It's even more over the top than Mel Brooks' original film! Busby Berkeley would approve of that.
This show has had a very curious progression, from a 'film about a play', to a 'play about a play'.

Good old Mel Brooks hey! Apparently, researchers have found a third gag in Get Smart!
Ahh yes. Comedic genius right there. Not to mention his other pisstake films; the other standouts to me [apart from 'The Producers' that is], in no particular order; 'Blazing Saddles' and 'Young Frankenstein'...
Cheers, Gadge

I don't think the sale in question is as bad as this one https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1930s-ATCO-and-MORRISON-Lawnmowers/352672967321?hash=item521cf26a99:g:JaAAAOSwaOxc6H-8 I have complained to ebay a few months ago and have sent a message to the seller without response cannot work it out, same add has been on for months.
Well, that didn't work, not sure how to post a link to ebay, but if you search ebay the heading is 1930's Atco and Morrison Lawnmowers, it is totally misleading as the photo in the ad is of a very early Atco that has been restored, yet the mowers purportedly for sale are completely different. As I said this ad has been running for a long time and no response from ebay about my complaint.
Central Coast of NSW has some real shady unscrupulous characters residing there who openly flout laws all the time like they aren't part of the state. Also badly lit for the actual items on sale (remember I said shady?) as well as no feedback and is situated in a storage facility too! Run! RUN!
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
