Hi all,

I have B&S 190cc 650 I/C series engine (12J902-1128-01 11092958) on a small Gardenline base, that I want to install on a more permanent base.

Just wondering what I need to do in order to find a suitable base? Just a matter of having the engine holes align with the mounting holes on the base ?
What about the length of the crankshaft? Would that need to be within a certain length when installed on the base?

I have an old Rover mower with a B&S engine on it. Not sure if the old B&S engines and newer engines share the same mounting holes or not though.

Thanks,

Hi Widget,
Bolt holes are the same on the motors just some of the early Briggs have a shorter shaft, I think the shorter shaft is only on the vertical pull motors. If you are going to fit the Gardenline motor to say the Rover base in the pic at least try and fit a decent blade carrier so that you can reduce some of the load off the motor. Not enough weight in those useless bar blades

Hey Norm, terribly sorry for late reply. I managed to install the mower onto the Rover base, the holes lined up as you said. The blade is a single bar that goes across, though wondering what you suggest I replace it with? Not sure if cross compatible but perhaps a circle/oval blade carrier from a VICTA mower with 2 blades on it? I think I have a couple lying around.

Hi Widget,
you can fit any of the round/oval blade carriers you want but you have to use the compatible blade boss. You can't fit a Honda blade carrier because the boss needs to be turned out to suit the 7/8th Briggs shaft. Honda is 22mm
