Hello ODK history lovers
This is a rare Operator and Parts List for the early Scott Bonnar
petrol mowers. Named the Scott Bonnar De-luxe they were made
in 16”, 20” and 24” cutting widths.

The authority here is historian and collector Grant Simpson
of Adelaide. He is holder of many Scott Bonnar records…

Scott Bonnar Petrol Mowers in the inter-war years appear to have
covered three distinct model types: -

- The 30” Ajax mower – c1935
- The 16” Centenary mower - c1936
- The 16”, 20” and 24” De-luxe mowers – c1937

These dates are not clear but are my best guess.
Note that the manual I have only covers the 20” and 24” mowers.
I have dated this manual to c1937 because of primary evidence.

TO BE CONTINUED …

PART TWO – The Manual
This instructional manual is from my collection and it is in
poor-to-average condition. It was probably a dealer’s master
copy [Coles Motors, Colac, Victoria].

A number of Coles Motors' documents have appeared on ODK
and it is well worth understanding the business of early lawnmower agents: -
