Well Just got back from the grocery stores. Boy there not many people even know how to cook anyway. Anything ready to eat in cans is gone, all the frozen meals are gone. But some still how to cook on the grills ass nearly all the meats were gone as well. I saw one couple with a half basket of bananas and some guy with a half basket of potatoes. No wonder there was none for me to buy a bag of. If you are looking a loaf of bread there was none other than the store baked bread to had.

Oh well pizza is out until I make up dough and let it rise. Anyway it is better for me anyway as I can control the amount of salt in the pizza as I am on a very low salt diet due to high blood pressure. It because I ended up in the ICU because it hit 250/120 and I was having stroke like shutdown of my left side. Besides I need to go a diet so now there is no excuse not to go on one.

Maybe the deadly 2 stroke emissions will stop it.

I said 4 weeks ago that if we shut the whole country down we'd be in a much better place now and just keep the overseas entries closed for as long as this issue is happening overseas then we'd be free of it in that short time, but the Government has played softball with us and thus this is now going to drag out much longer than it needs to be. It's the Namby Pamby country we live in and the snowflakes that believe it's all ok until it's not, and now it's not.

You can only expect so much from a bunch of bench warmers that are after a cushy, high paying job in the private sector once they jump ship. Most of them don't really want to deal with a crises, they just want to talk crap, offload whatever responsibility they can, while attempting to enforce their own dogma and fundamentals on as many as they can.

I can imagine how hard it would be for people like todays politicians. Big companys in their ear about not shutting down the economy, profits must not go down, vested interests screaming and threatening them. You can see them, sometimes quickly, otherwise slowly depending on how big their balls are, implementing things, but they just cannot bring themselves to do what needs to be done. Not yet. I daresay it will take more death and outrage to make them take that step, and as you say, it will mean more pain overall.

I agree; it has now gone too far, they have allowed too many cases to develop, and with our testing regime at the moment, imagine how many others are only somewhat ill, or not ill at all, carrying someone elses death sentence around. If we keep up the current nonsense, it will possibly be Italy/UK/Spain/Germany within a week or two.

Unfortunately, even when this place is eventually free of it, I can imagine the vested interests that will be screaming for them to open up international travel again. This thing has a ways to go, and I am not certain there won't be a 2.0 because of further weakness.

Yup! At least polymer banknotes can be sanitised without damage; the Yanks are in strife on this one, as their notes are still paper...

Maybe they could microwave them? Not sure what the Chinese currency is made of but I know they have been 'laundering' their money as well, and I am not talking about the property market.

What about running steam over them?
I think I'll have to steam my wallet as well.

That steam cleaner I got on the cheap at Aldi has a new use now.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Just make sure the money doesn't melt. I am not sure what the melting point for our notes are these days.

I'll have to test a corner I guess Sapper.
Wish I held onto old torn sections of worn polymer notes to experiment on.

Hmm you could just isolate your money for 73 hours then there would be no more Coronavirus on the notes.

Big Line out the front of Bunnings today - they are only letting a few people in at a time

Told it would be a 30-45 minute wait to get in

Cracked the sh**s and drove off

And if that wasn't bad enough - they brought forward the closing of my nearby Bunnings - last night. Put all the display mowers out for an absolute song and I bloody missed it !

Hi Tyler

I was wondering when these stores that attract big crowds would do something, or was it the number of dogs in there that was causing the wait. Like the old days queuing up waiting to get into a night club.
Bad luck missing the closing, bet it was busy as !

Cheers

It actually wasn't that bad on thursday when I went - they were supposed to shut 13-4-20 but told no one and just shut

Not of great annoyance as I got 2 good trimmers for $80, but from what I understand I could have snared a display Victa for under $150, Echo trimmer under $50 etc when they halved the prices again

I will get over it - eventually haha

All I can say is lucky I keep several buckets full of nuts, bolts, washers, nails ,etc (all separated), otherwise I would be annoyed at waiting 1/2 hour to get in the door if I needed anything

The bad thing is it seems the tradies have to wait in the general line - which is completely unfair. They have a tradies only hour in the morning, but how does that help if you are caught without a little thing you need for a job and have to run down and get it.

G'day Tyler, WCE, Max, Sapper, MF, Gadge, BB, Norm, AVB and all,

I really like this topic and thanks to all for your thoughts.
These are challenging and new times.

You do help all of the ODK community.

I feel we are making sensible NZ and AUS decisions here.
I hope the USA - as an advanced economy - will take heed ...

Any national economy must paramount their peoples over their markets.

These are my thoughts anyway.
This won't be over by Easter.

Cheers
Jack
