I imagine the natives are not as worry about food. If you know how to live off the land you got the food problem pretty well solved.

Doesn't help the millions that live in cities now. The reason cities have been able to grow to large sizes is because of electricity/refrigeration allowing the storage of food and the ability of people to actually buy food. Without this big cities would not exist, maybe that would be a better idea

That the very reason I don't live in a city. First it drives me nuts to do so as I tried it. I only could take it for three months and I had to get back in the countryside.

About 30 years ago, where I live was classified as country, even for cheaper insurance...Penrith (which is one of the furthest parts of Sydney) grew to us, and we were incorporated in too. Back then, there were farms, wineries, etc all around. Gonski now.

Just heard on the TV that it seems like the panic buying is easing and things are starting to slowly get back to normal but it will take a few weeks for the supermarkets to get back to normal. Glad to see the supermarkets have decided not to issue refunds on all the stuff the idiots bought in their panic buying madness

I'm quite sure if that's correct Norm, seems that there is going to be an Emergency meeting tonight for Sco Mo and his cronies which will probably lead to shutting all non essential meeting of people down and also with a closing of Schools in Victoria and NSW. After that all the rest will follow.

Also I'd say that the NRL and AFL will also be forced to go into hiatus.

Especially now that they've just announced that they are closing our borders on Tuesday at 4.00pm to everyone apart from freight transport.

I guess running about picking up old mowers will be classified as 'non essential travel'? Will have to take the bush tracks.

Jean went to the local supermarket just before and although some of the shelves were bare she was able to get most things she wanted, bread/milk/cereal so it looks like they are managing to get some semblance of order back into things. Nothing like it has been for the last few weeks. Anyway I have a couple of hundred liters of petrol and my mate has a couple of hundred of diesel so at least we should still be able to drive around for a while

I also suspect many Australians - the Doomsday Sheep - have not
tempered, but have reached consumption saturation point.
That fact has given relief to sensible, rational people.

The whole toilet-paper debacle has alerted me to the fact

Also, I am suspicious about how TP was being produced, apparently
just in large bundles - to maximize profit ...?

I only buy small packs and still have not found them.

As far as fuel is concerned I've always had 2 to 3 weeks stored at any given time. I run a series of Jerry's and gradually decant them into our various vehicles over the discount cycle and by the time my Jerry's are all empty the price is sitting at rock bottom, thus I never pay an inflated figure.

Must admit with petrol prices currently sitting in the high 80 cents per litre, who cares how much I actually use at the moment, but there's no where to really go right now is there with everything being closed up. Even the AFL seasons just been scrapped for 2020 as I can't see it getting the go ahead after the Postponement announcement being made this afternoon.

Used the cheap petrol near me on the computer this morning so we could find the cheap fuel, most were $1.58/1.59 mark but I found one not far away and we went down and got $600 worth. The bloke behind the counter was a bit confused by what we got and the line of cars storming into the station. I guess nobody had informed him that everything around the area had put the prices up 50 cents in the last few hours

Going on my normal grocery run Sunday morning. Let's see how nutty everyone got here after a week. I been working 10 hrs days for the last week here repairing equipment. No time to go any nuttier myself, the mowers already got me going crazy otherwise.

Forgot to mention the vendors are driving me bonkers too...

I guess Asian flue would be considered racist as well, I guess bird flue started over there as well. There is a constant stream of diseases that originate in those countries

As I've always said, Adelaide is the best value for money city to live in if you've got a job.

Lucky for me I didn't pay for it, mates company paid for it, it is an easy way for him to pay me for work I do there from time to time. Ended up about 300 L of diesel, 100 in his Cruiser and 200 in a drum. That was about $380 and 200 L of petrol for me about $218
