Hey all,

While I was crapping around in the garage last night with mowers, my oldest son, who likes helping asked me what mowers were Australian made. I told him all the ones in here. Then he asked me what new ones were Australian made, and I was stumped. I said I don't there are any anymore.

I thought about the question for a while, correct me if I am wrong;

Victa; sold to Briggs

Rover: sold to China?USA?

Superswift: ??

Masport is kiwi, or was?

None of the others I can think of, they all died off in the dark ages? And even if there is still a company, I am sure they are just 'onsellers' that have the mowers built in China/insert slave labour country.

Have I got it right here? Nothing left?

Sapper,
As far as I know Greenfield were the last one and they didn't sell a lot of push mowers and they shut down a couple of years ago

Hey Norm,

I always thought of Greenfield as a ride on mower company, and didn't even know they had push powers.

[Censored] still claims Supswift is 'all Australian'.

Cox Mowers who bought what's left of Greenfield after they went through the hoop as most others did.

Rover was bought by MTD which is fundamentally an American company as that's where it's birth place is.

Cheers,
BB.

Yes they built the Enduro range of Push Mowers, probably the best ever Aussie built mower by a long shot. It's very similar to the Scott Bonnar 720 design which pretty much stood the test of time.

Cheers,
BB.

Hi ODK Members,

Not sure about Parklander

https://www.parklandspowerproducts.com.au/products/filter/brand/parklander

Probably still made in China

Hi Paul,
Parklands is an Australian owned company since 1968 , that just means it is a company registered in Australia, doesn't mean that they manufacture anything in Australia, they just distribute products manufactured overseas. This is where the whole "Made in Australia " gets very cloudy, I haven't seen one of those "Made in Australia" tags on anything for so long now I had almost forgotten what they looked like.

Check this out,

https://www.australianmade.com.au/why-buy-australian-made/about-the-logo/

There's plenty of different versions there and this is how the lines get a tad blurred.
