This Mowers journey is really about to take off.......... to a New Owner

Yes whilst i truely appreciate what this mower is and its History, it wouldnt get the life here it deserves, so its been moved on to a better home

A fine Gentleman, Mr PRD is now the proud owner of this Rare beauty. and i am Now the proud owner of some of Mr PRD's money and a shiney new set of wheels for my Dads Machine.

Im sure the story of this machine will have many more twists and turns before it is done...

Hmmmm An observation today,

Prd picked up the early model one off me today, so its off to its new and im sure better home now, But as we removed the steering wheel to fit it in the vehicle it seemed higher than others apparently, so later on it occured to me, so i had a bit of a look at some pics, and it appears the early one has a longer and therefore higher steering column. I wonder if the higher wheel position was lowered to give a more comfy sitting position or some other reason?

G’day fxxxrr,

It was good to finally meet you on the weekend.

I’ve held off replying to your post above because......I can’t work out where the height difference is!! smile

I’ve been over it with a tape and compared it to the G40 and the G50 machine and I can’t pick it! It definitely sits a whole 2” higher than the others. Some of it is in the fact that the front wheels are different but not by 2”.

There is a good few things about this machine that have me curious and there are a good few differences as compared to later machines. Also a puzzle is the extent of the modifications and trying to work out what is original.

I need to get my feet under the table with this one. smile

Cheers,

Hey PRD

Yes it was good to catch up, unfortunately it was such a flying visit, that was the bad part. maybe next time. party

Weird how its higher but your not sure where? I wish i had paid more attention now LOL , banghead maybe the drop axle is less or the dash lower? , or is the coloulm just simply positioned 2 inches higher in its mounting position? im sure it will come to you in a light bulb moment woot

Good thing i didnt end up swapping the wheels over if they are different, I didnt pick up on that one, although i did notice the were slightly thicker through the hub perhaps?
sounds like a good old fashioned puzzle there, trying to work out whats what, and im sure you will get to the bottom of it, See told you it was in a better place , lol
