I have a Poulan 260 pro chainsaw It came with a Oregon cutting chain and a spare chain
Is Oregon a part of Poulan? Lowes and other hardware stores mostly carry Oregon bars and chains (I don't have a professional repair place near my area). Is Oregon a good brand name? I have noticed the Oregon bars are the quick chain tighten type and the have a patent on it. My Poulan also has the quick chain thighten, so I assume the bar is also Oregon. I would just like some info on Oregon and how good a product they produce.

Oregon Saw chain are the largest manufacturer of saw chain and sell to most manufacturers for original equipment purposes except for Stihl who make their own chain. Oregon provide virtually all the Bars and Chain for Poulan and have done so for a number of years. Their product is good and is consistent. Carlton manufacture chain and bars and sell them through large outlets as do Sabre and their products are of good quality as well. Oregon Saw Chain Co. is not owned by any chain saw manufacturer, they are an independent manufacturer.
