My alarm sings out loud at 6am sharp
I bounce out of bed and to breakfast I start
I'm rested and hungry to work on the lawn
Drill pants pressed sharp, and my work shirt adorned
Unable to drive, my daughter will help out
To the landscape supply via the quickest known route
We load up with sand, its washed void of seeds
My lawn will respond to all my good deeds
The scarifier is first to break into the turf
It rips out the thatch and the soil an imperf
Onlookers will gather with jaws open wide
Watching me operate my machinery with pride
Scotty is rolled out and the spare reel installed
I'm gonna love to see the green landscape soon bald
I fill the green bin with thatch, soil and crap
Right up to the brim, still, no time for a nap
Sand is laid down like a fine Eastern silk
Expertly levelled like an engineer or one of their ilk
I finish with water, some food now for a rest
Stand back, take a breath, in 3 weeks it'll be the best!
