Here's a goer, or it will be after a few engine tuneups and a wheel alignment...... I now have a spark after using wire brush on drill to clean flywheel. It has the handles bolted to sides of base. speedy

Did the wheel alignment, cleaned carb, water blasted all gunk off, and leave in the sun.... then put together. It ran with starter fluid, but a problem with the govener springs...... I gotta play with them, have a look at original.... It was on the farm when my mate bought the farm, and sat in shed for 8 years...... rebirth speedy

Did someone get handles off a different mower and bolt them to the side? I would say after years of the nasty single bolt top mounted handles being an obvious design flaw, Victa considered them a successful design in planned obsolescence and stuck by it. No need for it now with these B&S engines claiming buyers don't have to ever change the oil! What a selling point for your typical Australian domestic mower buyer.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
Yes MF its a bit of a bitza..... I wonder what sort of oil B&S use that doesn't need changing, silicon or moly? A lot of people don't ever change oil anyway. speedy
