I just noticed they finally relocated the handle mounting points to the side. It's a shame they deleted the raised PT hole and the cut out for the exhaust.
I wonder if you can drill a hole and use washers to mount the PT when the B&S eventually fails?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Word is that they altered the base because the new plastic briggs carby linkages were getting clogged with dirt being thrown out around the spacer - apparently really stuffing up the readystarts.

Notice no ring now I believe

That means you need to find a PT with the longer shaft, which are much less common.

Bonnar_Bloke that reflects your well known sentiments in this!

MF,

When the PT bases are all gone that is the end of it, too difficult to try mounting a PT on the other bases and in case you hadn't noticed they have removed the dip in the height adjuster bar so this makes these bases no more difficult to mount a PT on than any of the 4 stroke bases kicking around now. It is too difficult to mount a PT motor in the north south direction on these bases
