Hello ODK History Lovers
From the earliest days of Victa being an engine maker it has
been clear to me that Merv Richardson was keen to see his little
engines used on non-Victa equipment.

And this is what indeed happened. In the 1950s, unbranded
Victa engines started to appear on lawnmowers not made by Victa.

It is not clear to me whether Merv did this out of spite [Villiers], pride,
or profit. Perhaps it was a combination of all these things…

By about 1960, Victa was out-in-the-open in making ‘Tiger’ power
units in horizontal and vertical configurations for various power
equipment manufacturers.

This comprehensive Power Units User and Parts Manual dates from
the early to mid-1970s, certainly printed after Victa upgraded its engines
to decompressor designs. This was the age of ‘ZIP-starting’!

PART TWO A – The Operator Manual
This manual comes from my collection and it is in good original condition.
Cover-to-cover, it is 32 pages long … comprehensive. It is both an operator
and parts manual.

I have split the manual into two parts: Operator and Parts.
Here is the Operator Manual: -
