Agree with you BB - we had gardens before the pool went in but removing that much play area (for the kids at the time) it made more sense to remove the gardens. We've got a passionfruit working its way across the fence which actually makes that little strip worse as it shades the lawn and it will turn to dirt. I've got to remember to trim the vine higher so there's less shade and I'll look into a mowing strip at some point. The sprinkler heads need to be re-done before the next growing season so it will be a good opportunity to get both done properly.
Every time I post it seems to add more things to my jobs list!
