G'day everyone,
Well all I can say is I was very happy last Friday when I had a look in a scrap metal yard and noticed a nice looking modern style Victa 2 stroke dumped there on the side. I didn't hesistate in saving this beauty from getting crushed and shredded!
It's got a very clean and solid deck, it's almost like new. Handles look and feel like new, the paint hasn't even worn down at all where you hold from while mowing the lawn.
I got it for $20. I think it's not a bad deal. I just hope as you guys say it hasn't been straight fueled. The only thing that looks promising is the pull starter works ok. It sounds like it has compression, also I can see a bit of oil residue left on the inside of the petrol tank. So i'm hoping it's ok.
It looks like it's got some sort of beefy spark plug boot, I don't know if they were original on these? It may have been added by someone. Well it wasn't connecting properly and it just fell off the wire while I was trying to connect it to the spark plug.
Also where the fuel tap was seems to be broken off and it's missing the fuel line to the carby, but I don't think it's all that bad and hopefully it won't take much to get this legend back into service.
It feels like a nice big solid mower, as you guys know i've only ever used my original full crank side pull Victa Commando all my life, getting something like this feels like a brand new lawnmower to me!
