Doesn't work like that MF, if the grass is long and the flap is down it can't mulch it, it just clogs up and if you don't have a sidethrow this is a good alternative. Keeps grass and projectiles off your legs. I get mowers here all the time with a cord on them from the handelbar down to the catcher. People obviously use them like that often
