Victa Commander was first introduced as the
Commander Super 4 for the
1963-64 season. It was not self-propelled. The
Commander Self-Propelled was
Victa's first self-propelled lawnmower, introduced for the 1964-65 season.
The
Victa Corvette was introduced as a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke for the
1963-64 season. An all-new base (as shown below) was introduced for the
1964-65 season. The Corvette would remain Victa's flagship for the 1960s.
The
Victa Cortina was introduced as a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke for the
1964-65 season.

The 4-stroke lawnmower was introduced to Australia in the late 1950s by Turner, and
the 4-stroke was an immediate success; so much so, that every lawnmower maker
had to offer 4-strokes. The biggest player, Victa, was no exception.
