Hello
ODK History Lovers
Kirby engines were a popular choice for lawnmower manufacturers in the 1960s
and 1970s. Made under licence from North American Tecumseh, they would power
Australian-made rotary and reel mowers in vertical and horizontal shaft
configurations.
This article discusses the most popular small horizontal shafts - the
HK25 and
HK30 engines. Many enthusiasts would know these engines powered the early
Victa
Imperials,
Rover Thoroughbreds, and
Scott Bonnar Model 45s.
