Speedy, have you got a 100mm angle grinder? If so, go and buy a 'twist knot cup brush' to fit it - it will rip paint and rust off incredibly fast.

BUT: Essential PPE for this job is a full face shield, a pair of long welders gloves AND a leather apron.

Trust me, the busted bristles that fly off will penetrate normal clothing, and stick into you...
