You may want to see if you can get access to his WWII RAAF service record via the National Archives, as well. IIRC he was a fighter pilot. Just keep in mind that his full names are Francis John Boundy, for that!

Edit: Yep, they have his records - RAAF Service No. 40403; DOB 22 Mar 1923.
