sounds like its time to make yourself a puller now . or use a deadblow hammer hard plastic type of thing little or no thread damage then too . but a puller seems the go matey then you have one for future use
but you should be able to get the points through the inspection plate im sure ?
i always used a good pair of tubeless truck levers does the job for me . then a good sharp hit and off she pops

use hardwood too , pine will just absorb the shock .......... just a thought
