Just a correction on the original part of this thread and that is that "Manch's" Model 45 was never fitted with a Briggs & Stratton as suggested by someone here. Manch's mower was fitted with a HK25 Kirby Lauson. The evidence is that the Briggs 3HP unit could not be fitted with those handle bars as the tank would've been in the way, also going by the twin brass ID plates that are fitted to the chassis, SB were not using B&S engines at this point in time. They were Kirby's across the whole range. When SB changed to the Briggs units they had to modify the handle bar to clear the large tank that was fitted to the 3HP powered units.
