Yes, I've seen that too, although I feel that slipping out
of gear could also be the selector fork being worn.

I have been doing a bit of searching on that, but with some
interesting results. This is the story so far:-

A site dedicated to Gilson Snowthrowers gave me some hints:
They identified the box as a Foote 35 Series. I know these
boxes were used on various types of machinery and are a very
good design.

The site said, "Foote is now part of DANA and they no longer support these.
But here's some good news, a company has bought rights to the Foote 35 design
and they are now available here."


The company is Powertow: who make aircraft tugs for small aircraft!
