Thanks heaps Jack. I have the red rover colt 5 and the blue rover colt major. Both have the same gearbox. These gearboxes are an amazing design and for their age and hours of use I have always been impressed with the abuse they can take. The gearbox now bangs out of forward position even when I try to hold it in gear. I have seen part 10 in the second drawing somewhere for sale so it makes me think it might be the problem. Will know for sure when I get it apart.
I like using the major more than the colt because of the foot pedal being the wrong way round on the colt. The colt always catches me out when you release the pedal not thinking it goes to full speed lol. Mowed a few garden beds when not thinking.
Been searching Google for info on repairs to the gearbox but nothing. Probably a good thing, proves how strong they are.
