Yeah, I like the Alroh as a quality-built, solid-as-a-tank mower
I will miss it if this is an end of an era.
However, my personal view is that all powered roller mowers, 12" or wider, should have differential
action via two or more rollers. That is the single biggest 'defect' of the smallest Alroh.
I might add, however, that the Alroh has easy alignment adjustment on the front roller.
It was not unusual to find SB45s, straight out of the carton, with misalignment, most probably
due to transport. A drop from just a few inches could cause the front or rear roll to lose alignment.
In the Scott Bonnar 45 case, on the front roller, that meant two heavy adjustable spanners on
each side of the front roller bracket. You had to physically twist that bracket and check with
a gauge until the machine was aligned.
All very interesting.
