Mark, I fixed the clutch cable holder as described, duhh that was a bad miss for me.
Thanks guys I was almost onto it last night looking at the diagram I used to work on the drive shaft shows two different parts for the Clutch Spring RH - CH84202A and Clutch Spring LH - CH84203A
Only one number different! Another mad thought - if I could have made the motor run backwards the mower would have mowed fine in reverse ha ha.
All finished now as far as I can tell. It is operating like brand new and has a lovely feel to the drive.
Probably a silly question but I don't know if I should grease the drive wheel clutch assemblies or not, at present they are clean n dry. When I took them out they were very surface rusted from me washing the old girl. Grease or not ??
