Yep that sounds about right 2 strokes do like there are free they like to be be able to work for it. I guess without a filter to slow it down they get to much air.
Interesting air cleaner that of something like an early Cortina 2 not a VC-Sports. Anyway those ones can take the larger air filter. Not sure if Bruce has them in his shop,I'm sure he would,if not I hate to say this but Bunnings & or eBay.
