Hello
ODK members,
I'm new to this post but I am fascinated by John Boundy's drive.
Victa's Mervyn Richardson developed an Australian mower engine; but so did Boundy!
My research agrees with Deejay's extensive work.
What is not appreciated, though, is that
Wiltshire Company capital probably saved
the design (remember Wiltshire 'Staysharp' Knives?).
I know the story is that
BMS engines were flawed; but I suspect the later versions
were entirely reliable - but the myth lingers . . .
It was a lucky bit of research to find a personal recollection of
Bob Davies who worked
for the Boundy Company in the late 1950s (see attached).
All very interesting.
