Hi Grumpy, Thanks that thread answered all my questions, Somehow I knew it was something simple, I just didn't want to put to much pressure on the very flimsy looking aluminium pulley. Hopefully I can now get one of my two machines running and cut the grass. That is, if the rain will let up. Thanks once again. Dave
