You can take the cowling off without even disturbing the air filter or fuel tank from memory, 2 bolts on the front 2 on the back and pull.
These old things are pretty good, I had one with a 11hp honda on it, I also had a little seat on wheels that attached to the back to use it as a ride on. No photos though as I didnt have a digital camera at that time.
