After having another look at your carby (bigted) on the your VC-Mustang. I'd say that somebody has changed it as I don't remember that those were around in 1973. It should have a aluminium bowl not the plastic one. The plastic bowls didn't come out until 1974-75. If memory serves me correct. Not that it will bother you but I thought I'd just mention that. However I could be wrong,but I don't think I am.
