Hi 633dale,and a warm welcome to the forum. It's great to have another Scott Bonner owner on board.
A picture or two says a thousand words, can you please post some pics of your machine, with and without the catcher, from different angles. We want to see the cylinder reel and the front roller and preferably the bottom blade (bedknife) as well.
I also want you to remove the chain case cover (from the left hand side of your machine; looking from the rear) that should involve removing 2 screws; and take some pics of all the sprockets and chains; preferably some where the sprocket is not covered by the chain....this will allow us to access the condition of the chain case,
From these pics, we can diagnose any probs you may (or may not) have and give you an idea of it's condition, I will also add some historical data in my reply. Without a pic, we are flying blind....
