If its 4 stroke it is like your car, you put oil in the sump of the engine to lubricate the internals and it burns straight petrol.
If it is two stroke it has no sump and you put oil in the petrol because the petro & oil mix enters the crankcase of the motor and that lubricates the internals.
Two totally different engine designs.
