I have two circa late 1990s Victa Corvette 700MCH mowers powered by the Honda GCV160. While there are many issues with these mowers, primarily the engines (despite claims about Hondas having no issues...maybe I'll crank up a thread on these engines starting with chronic oil leaks), my biggest maintenance cost is wheels.

Around a year ago both mowers got new wheels fitted. One had genuine Victa wheels, the other aftermarket ones. Well, proof is there that aftermarket wheels are a false saving as they simply haven't lasted at all. Never again! What I found interesting though was that on the other mower I fitted Victa Pro Series 200 wheels on the rear this time (these seem to only be available in 8 inch / 200mm). Other than some tread wear these have lasted much better than the standard Super Traks.

This got me thinking I'd get some 7 inch Pro Series (assumedly Pro Series 175). I can't find them. Which got me thinking that maybe there was a Pro Series mower with 8 inch front and back wheels. So, my question is whether I can convert my Corvette 700 to 8 inch front wheels?

I compared the axle linkage bar with my new 19 inch MCA489 Mustang but it seems pretty much the same length. I tried axle swaps but of course the 19 inch Mustang axle is too wide.

So, now I get to ask for help. Is this possible (perhaps even meaning I can get late model 8 inch wheels too)? Or is there a Pro Series 175 wheel?
