Hi Al, you must have been reading my mail...I was just sitting outside (bloody hot here ) and thinking to myself...'Do I really have to paint the logos red?' I'm with you all the way and think that light blue or silver would look much better; and as it is for (non-original) display purposes, I might paint the lightning bolt as well, as you suggest!!
