A little on the 1755 Rancher....
Bought it for $80 without a cutting deck or the parts that go along with it, (wasn't running and had one flat tyre), so I have fitted up a deck off a 11050 Rancher 2. I had to manufacture all of the operating mechanisms myself from scratch, and it works just fine. Instead of a belt coming from the engine and driving a pulley at the front, which in turn drives the deck, my setup drives a pulley mounted on the underside of the chassis, directly below the seat which drives the deck, and the deck drive throw out mechanism is operated by a spring loaded, stainless steel, push pull cable in a stainless steel sheath. The seat is an old office chair, and believe me, it's a hell of lot more comfortable. Other than that, she's just a good ol' workhorse.
There's a reason for the way I do things, and the pulley mounted below the seating position?
There's future plans. I've made it so the deck is rigid, but can come off in literally 5 minutes. Two bolts and three R clips!
