Snap!!! the news only gets worse here.Have now pulled engine apart. The rust I don't think is too bad and the cylinder definitely needs to be honed out.As bottom part of cylinder has a fair bit of rust.I guess that why the piston didn't want to come out.I'd say it's been sitting in the rain for a while,as I did find water in the crankcase and a little in cylinder and on the head. The worse part is the rings are just about worn through so I can tell you all it is now a full rebuild of the engine.Even the large bearing on the top of the crank is a bit iffy. Here are some pictures I took earlier. As you can see she's not in great shape.Hey but must keep my head up high.I only need rings for it and a fair bit of time. She will live again. It will just be like a brand new engine again.Still it's the time that is the problem,I didn't need to add another mower to the restoring table right now.I have to many on there now.So for now I will get get the engine to a point where the rust won't kill it until I finnish some other restores. As there was water in it.I couldn't leave it the way it was.I just wanted to try and get it going.SNAP!!!
